This indenture made the twentyeth [sp] day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred ninety-nine between Richard Crystal [sp] of the County of Grainger and the State of Tennessee of the one part and Johnathon [sp] Humphries of the County and said State afd [sp] of the other part.   That the said Richard Crystal [sp] _______ sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt aforesaid _________ tract or parcel of land containing 100 acres. N side of the Holston, east branch of German [?] Creek _________within law of equity to Howard [?] Gold.

Elizabeth Christal, Silas R. Christal, Elizabeth Christal (his wife), Richard S. Christal, Gemimah/Jemima Christal (his wife), Paten Martin, and Jane (his wife) of Wayne Co. Kentucky

This indenture made this 4th day of September in the year of our Lord 1837 Between Elizabeth Christal , and Silas R.Christal , and Elizabeth his wife, Richard S. Christal and Gemimah his wife, Paten Martin and Jane his wife of the one part and George Barrier of the other part all of the County of Wayne and the State of Kentucky witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Christal , and Silas R. Christal and Elizabeth his wife, Richard S. Christal and Gemimah his wife, Paten Martin and Jane his wife for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold, enfcof [sp?], and confirm and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, and confirm unto the aforesaid George Barrier his heirs forever certain tracts or pieces of land lying and being in the County of Wayne and State of Kentucky containng 200 acres by survey in the Elk Spring Valley which was patented to Richard Christal by patent bearing date 9th day of January 1810 and bounded as follows to wit:  beginning at a walnut, ash, elm, and mulberry and running E 85 poles to two fir oaks thence S 100 poles to a black oak and beach [sp] S 25  W 180 poles to a white oak and dogwood and also a fifty acre survey granted to Richard Christal by patent bearing date of the 12th day of November 1818 and bounded as follows to wit: &nsp;beginning at a walnut and ash corner to Robert Cambells 200 acre survey running S 5 E   E 54 poles to a beach on the bank of any branch N 11   E 73 poles to a popular and hickory on Richard Christal's line 35 W binding on said line 82 poles to a white oak and dogwood corner to said Christal then to the beginning and also a 50 acres survey made in the name of Elizabeth Christal which survey has date of the 13th day of 1822 and patented in the family patent having the date of the 12th day of May 1826 and bounded as follows to wit:   Beginning at two post oaks Richard Christal's corner running S 75   E 26 poles to a post oak S 35   E 75 poles to a popular S 30   W 123 poles to a popular and chestnut S 65   W 35 poles to a stake on Richard Christal's line then binding on said line to the beginning and also 9 3/4 acres which was deeded from Elisha Majors to Milton Christal by deed bearing the date of the 22nd day of February 1828 and bounded as follows: see description of Milton Christal's deed with Elisha Majors .  These above supposed to contain 334 3/4 acres to be the same more or less with their appurtanances [sp] and unto the said George Barrier and his heirs forever and the said Elizabeth Christal , and Silas R. Christal and Elizabeth his wife, Richard S. Christal and Gemimah his wife, and Paten Martin and Jane his wife and their heirs or any person or persons claiming by, through, or under him as well as against the claim or claims of all and any other person or persons whatever.  In Testimony whereof of the said Elizabeth Christal , and Silas R. Christal and Elizabeth his wife, Richard S. Christal and Gemimah his wife, Paten Martin and Jane his wife hereunto subscribed the names and afixed their seals, the day and date above written.
